Terri Schafer is a seasoned professional costume designer and seamstress with a passion for bringing creative visions to life. With over six years of experience as the Costume Coordinator and Designer at Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre and as the Resident Costume Designer for Players Circle Theatre, Terri has honed her craft in the world of theater, dance, and opera. Her recent work includes designing costumes for FGCU’s opera Dido and Aeneas and creating dance and theater costumes for Melody Lane Performing Arts Center.
Terri’s expertise goes beyond theater, with custom designs for cosplay, special occasions, and specialty costumes for events like Renaissance Faires, Steampunk gatherings, and themed parties. She loves breathing new life into vintage pieces through upcycling, recycling, and reproduction, and she specializes in crafting unique children’s character costumes.
In addition to costumes, Terri offers professional alterations for bridal and evening wear, business suits, and hard-to-fit everyday clothing, with a focus on plus-size fashion. Her skills extend to upholstery, where she can recycle furniture with custom fabric choices and create matching cushions and pillows.
Currently, Terri is designing original Renaissance Faire costumes for the Lancaster Troll Market in Pennsylvania and developing a fall clothing line for Moon Fabrics in New York. She also enjoys creating unique home décor items, from curtains to placemats, to add a touch of originality to any space.
